The kit is here!!

Today, the big guns arrived! We finally got the boat kit- which arrived in what looked like semi truck. Needless to say, we were more than excited to see it pull up... a little confused at the size, but excited. As the door rolled up, it revealed the 3 boxes. 3 HUGE boxes that by some miracle Brett and I got out and onto our own truck.

Just to put a picture in your head, this isn’t any truck… This is a 25 year old Ford Ranger characterized by well placed hickory nut dents and sap that we dare not attempt to remove. The first time I drove in the truck, we stalled a few times, but as Papa Hardt told us, “Just floor it! It’ll get you up the hill. Trust me.” Well, that is exactly what we did when we had about 300 pounds of trailer pieces in the back.

Now, we had these boxes that had to fit in our 3 car garage which isn’t really a garage anymore… more like a project workshop. Rearranging our workspace/garage/tool shop/etc... became a game of tetris. Brett, thank god, is the king of fitting as much stuff in a small space as possible. And finally after about 45 minutes, we got the last box in (PHEW!). The moving was done and now, it’s time for a beer and to daydream about our honeymoon home. -Kalah
